TPM/ Loose Nut / Pressure issue 997.2

This is the 2nd time this has happened to me. The outer nut that holds valvestem (& tpm) has worked its way loose.

The first time scared the hell out of me because I lost all of my pressure at once and needed to get towed because I didn't know what it was. Obviously the tire would not hold any pressure.

This time I just noticed after getting my rear tires changed my one side was loosing pressure slowly. I was scared I had a bent wheel, but just realized that damn nut was so loose I could tighten it down with my hand.

I'm really aggravated, and don't want to tighten the nut too tight from the outside.

Has anyone had this problem before?

I was thinking of using the blue loctite on the nut. Does anyone know the torque spec? Is this a good idea?

This happened to me a few weeks ago and i posted about it.

I was able to get home before the pressure dropped to low.

The torque setting is 4 Nm or about 35 in lbs

p-cardriver is infamous around these parts
Here's what I would do:
1. clean the threads on both parts with something that will remove any grease, oils, wax, etc.
2. reassemble to the correct torque as above.
3. apply a small dab of paint or nail polish across the nut and onto the threads. If this paint seal is broken, the nut is moving.
4. if the paint seal breaks, use some loktite. Continue to use a paint seal as an indicator until you are confident the problem is resolved.

Thank you so much guys. I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I appreciate the torque specs and the nail polish is a great idea, so I can visually inspect. Thanks again. have a great weekend. I feel a lot better now.
