Youll be seeing different improvements from both so you cant really compare and say which will you see the most from.. While they are close in price for the part the labor on the install is MUCH different..

I believe that you would get more out of the LWFW, but the labor is a complete pain in the a$$!

If you are planning to spend around $1k on plenum, may I suggest changing the factory cats? I have full AWE system on my car, and I couldn't be happier...

Got the plenum on my car as well along with the full AWE system and very happy with how they work together. Plenum was off the car for a little bit after the exhaust got put in and there was a small difference in feel with and without it. Not sure if it's worth the $$$ (and there are lots of threads here that has discussed this to death) but all in all, I'm pretty happy with the set-up.

I will definitely be getting a lwfw when I have to change out my clutch as to save cost on labor as previously mentioned.

btw, P40's on my car and love them. Look forward to seeing them on your red car.

I have the plenum along with my exhaust mods and the perception of the car did change a tad but not as much as when you install the LWFW. The LWFW will affect the way the whole car feels, it will feel more like a race car (and sound like it to with the slight rattle at idle). However, it is a mod that is much more involved than just changing the plenum and I may add quite a bit more expensive when you consider the labor intensity of the LWFW installation.

from what i read, the LWFW will be more noticeable performance-wise.. and more expensive to install.

also some people will argue that with LWFW, ur assembly may be unbalanced leading to possible problems, like a broken crankshaft..

u will have to a search and decide for urself.

Plenum is another 'debatable' mod, especially for a non FI cars.

I was under the impression that driven properly, the Porsche clutch is good for many many miles. Say 90K or more. So waiting on the LWFW for the clutch to be worn out may be a very long wait.
Separately, there was a thread recently about the risks and potential deleterious impact of the LWFW on a standard Porsche engine. I went off to talk to some of my MoTown auto engineers (my closest friend is both very knowledgeable and conservative/careful) buddies and they reflected similar concerns.
There are certainly well respected individuals representing both sides of the argument, but having considered the mod (LWFW) in the past, I'm going to do a lot more research before taking the plunge.

Forget plenum and LWFW, get suspension done. If budget is only $1K - 996 GT3 front LCAs, if more - PSS 10 coilovers and rear toe links.
