I have a 2009 racing green CS2.

I am being told by my installer that it is sometimes difficult to do the hood (being such a large piece) without getting some visible specs between the film and the paint. I have four specs visible on the front hood. He has agreed to one do over but no guarantees.

Anyone else run into this issue?

No such issues will be encountered on a quality install...period. See some of the work of Benjamin (at metropolitan detail) and Premier films (who set the standards for everyone in this field) and you will know what I am talking about.

Bad installer IMO.

BTW never use a mobile installer because they will have these problems. Take your car to a good shop and look at how clean it is. It should be immaculate - like a paint shop - to ensure you don't get dust under the film.

Bad installer. My car was done by Premier in No. Cal. and it is perfect.

How close are you looking? Are we talking that when you are standing next to the car you see these quarter sized imperfections? Or are you saying if you are 3" away you can just make out a pin point sized spot?

It's clear-bra and in about 500 miles you are going to have nicks and other imperfections on the surface. Don't sweat it and if the installer is offering to re-do it, then instead say "well, I hate to put you through that, how about you knock the price down accordingly". I'm sure he'd rather give you a 50% discount than re-do the car.
