997.2S Sound

Is it just me or the idle of a 997.2S sounds like a diesel? It has a clicking sound like a diesel engine. Is it normal? Would changing the exhaust system correct it? Thanks in advance.

Yes it does sound like a diesel at idle. Changing the exhaust will almost eliminate that( depending on exhaust). I really think the stock mufflers make the car sound anemic and just plain silly. I just reverted back to stock( warranty issues/service) and i just cant stand it...
P.S , that diesly clatter you hear has to do with the DFI if im not mistaken.

Yes, I've noticed that too in my 09 997.2 C4! I just figured that was the way it was going to sound...

Look at the bright side, at least it doesn't sound like a Toyota

DFI for sure. You'll hear something similar on any Audi with the 2.0T DFI engine.

Even my wife asked why the car is clicking. I did not know there were warranty issues with changing the exhaust. I was thinking of changing it.

It varies from dealer to dealer. Here in Dubai, the dealer will void your warranty for almost ANYTHING! While some other dealers in different countries tolerate cat back systems. Im almost sure your dealer wont have any issues with exhaust mods(hopefully)

How do you like your Tubi? Is this the most popular exhaust conversion for .2s?
