Larger wheels bad?
Nothing written....doubt any of us here would be totally privi to that from Porsche. I did get some solid info at last years Sebring race at the Porscheplatz tent during a Michelin talk that had a Porsche engineer there along with Michelin engineers that were hosting this event. Then to top that off I was speaking with Pat Long about this and he went and got a Lizards engineer that was with Porsche for many years and worked on the development of the 997. My questions were about getting 18 or 19" track wheels for my 997S to work best with PASM...that is what started both these talks during the Sebring event.
Hope this helps.

There was some lore that the company test drivers evaluating the original 997S recommended 18" wheels but the marketing team over-ruled and went with 19"-ers.
Regardless of the legitimacy of that historic reference, it's been quite some time since the 997S with stock 19" wheels has been in production. I'd find it hard to believe that the suspension is set up for 18" wheels since they have all been shipped with 19's. Unless there is no differentiation between the suspension components/settings of the 'S' and 'non-S' in which case one of them might be off a bit.
