How do I turn off the radio and AC?

Two Questions:
How do I turn off the radio/cd but keep the navigation on? Only trick I found is to mute the radio but that is a pain. Also the second you touch the volume **** (i.e to listen to the nav instructions) radio gets un-muted.

How do I turn off the air after hitting auto? Currently I have to lower the fan until it turns off. Isn't there a quick off button?

How sad is that. They spend way to much money on a Bose system and it still sucks. So to change it out you have to spend another 3k...makes me want to cry.

I didn't buy my car for the electronics or the Bose, when you get your 997, take it to the track, and drive it like you stole it, then you will know why I bought mine.

As for the Bose, I think it is OK, and I leave my AC on Auto, and the NAV is off or volume is so low it doesn't bother me. If you want great electronics, get a Japanese car, they have nailed the electronic gadgets in cars.

I dont think you get the point of my post. You spend 80+k for this car new. It has all the bells and whistles. So they go to Bose to make a good system and charge an extra 3k for it and it is disliked by the majority of people. That isnt how you are supposed to make 80k cars.

To turn off the AC, just push the "ECO" button and the AC compressor turns off.

I just keep the radio volume at min so it's muted...it takes 1/4 of a second to spin the dial.

Not really seeing the problem - did they change it for 997.2?

But to turn of the entire system fan and all you would still have to press down on the fan control **** until it turns off correct?

Does that also mute the navigation system? I would like to hear the lady tell me what to do. Don't get enough of that from my wife.

Not sure about 997.2 but my problem is with the 997.1.
