My passenger side mirror whistles too. I think it starts around 50mph. I can't tell if it dissappears at higher speed or not.

I was just chatting with a 996 cab owner that had the same complaint. Here's a past thread on the same topic:

Common problem. Dealer replaced mine under warranty and the problem went away. The new mirror looks identical to the old one, so I can't really help with root cause. Basically my car has had all of the typical 997 problems:

passenger mirror whistle
rear main seal leak
starter cable issue

all fixed under warranty. I should be good now, right?
