key range, lock beep, pedal placement questions
Yes I have known about holding the remote up to your temple for years, and it really does work but I gain maybe 10 extra feet. Looks like I will look into the battery. Thanks for all the help with the SmartTop stuff, I assumed maybe the dealer could do it but if not oh well.
As far as the pedals go, I am just doing it wrong? I can heal toe in and other car but this one. Its like it was setup to not be able to unless you are under very hard braking conditions.
I will look at the pedal extensions as an alternative.
Thanks
phil

Unless you have the Smartop Remote Key module, a beep on locking indicates something is not closed - glovebox?
Just took a second look at the extensions. Problem is they are just width extension, from what I can tell. I need the gas pedal to be out more at the top. The plain difference between the brake and the gas makes it so I have to either be braking super hard or must put a whole lot of heal into it, which is a very odd feeling. I dont know what to do as I now find myself doing it on a normal basis like I have been and missing

hey thanks for the info. i still dont seem to understand why they made it so hard to do when not braking very hard.
That is the point, there is no need to raise the pedal, as they are the same height from the floor when the brake pedal is full engaged.
For #2 I have the same @#$@ problem! Have heard many different possible solutions, but only really know of a aftermarket mod from mods4cars = http://www.aftermarketbulbsshop.com/v/vspfiles/downloadables/RK997.pdf

I have to say, I don't share this problem... heel-toe is a technique that allows you to downshift smoothly under hard braking, without upsetting the balance of the car. If the pedals were setup to allow you to easily practice heel-toe when cruising around town, they wouldn't line up correctly under hard braking on the track.

IMO the pedal placement is perfect for heel-toe. This is one of the things Porsche does well - it is where racers want it because you should be doing it when you brake hard. Give it time, you will get used to it.
