What you buy if you had to "downsize" your 911
There was a guy selling his '09 GT-R for the remaining value of his loan (it went down about $1k monthly - he was trying to sell it at $0 loss/$0 gain) - $57k.
There is another one that just went up for sale for $85k (I know it sounds like a LOT), it has well over $20k in mods (~632 whp, etc...), tuned by Kenny at Jotech, and has been quite stable. Guy is starting a business, and it must go. He just got the mods a couple months ago.
Those are two ends of the spectrum.
From what I've seen, Z06's can be had for a lot less (I don't know if that's good or bad, but if they come down a little more, I'm going to consider getting a weekend car).

I can't believe how many people leave the runflats on the 135. My friend has one and it's like driving on rocks. If I had a 135 the first thing I would do is put some proper rubber on it. The second thing is some suspension work because it's a bit mushy in the bends. The power out of that engine is pretty phenomenal though, he's got it tuned and it will drop my 997 in a drag race.
The upcoming M-135 is pretty exciting. It should be closer to the great classic M3's than the current big beast is.

The 1-series M sounds like it will be AWESOME!
Not sure if this has been said, but I would totally go for a 370z Nismo edition. About $38k for a brand new one (probably about $35k or less with some negotiating). A buddy of mine has the regular 370z and it's pretty decent, but I remember seeing the nismo one on the dealer lot and was pretty impressed by it. Didn't drive it, but drove my buddy's regular one before.
Didn't the Nismo 350Z outperform or perform the same as the Nismo 370Z? I'm not exactly which one was better, but I recall the 370Z having some brake issues on track in stock form.
As neat as the new 370 looks, I'd just get the sport edition (LSD, better brakes, etc...), and upgrade from there.

Congrats . I know you needed the space and it's a great DD . My M3 has almost 30K miles and not one hiccup . Just flawless reliability !!!!
I have not placed even one mod on the car and it's just been super easy to take care of.
Enjoy the car . Good luck.
What color ?
agreed! I hope it will hit the showrooms soon. when I had my M6, they brought me a brand new 135i as a loaner. I couldn't wipe that grin off my face. The car was awesome! I am sure I will get flogged for this, but I am considering an "M" version for me and with proper rubber on all 4's!
