What you buy if you had to "downsize" your 911
But i don't have to try my sister's pants to know it doesnt fit.

Point taken.
I guess, I'm just suggesting that if you've never driven one, you won't know how much fun it is to slow that 3800lbs beast quicker than the C2S, hold those cornering G's, mash the throttle early in the corner, get the tail out a little, straighten up, and hold on while the acceleration pins you to the seat.

Don't get me wrong: i'm not saying the Nissan GT-R is a funless car. And the pure performance potential of many modern cars often exceeds the driver's skills.
That being said, what is a sport car ultimately ? No, no.. in fact, what is ''SPORT'' means ?
One of the definitions is: An active pastime; recreation.
Many of us are practicing sport for recreation only, not on competition-level. I believe the same applies with sport cars. Therefore, we pay to get the maximum FUN out of our recreational activities. And the fun factor can take several forms, which does not automatically involve fastest laptimes and 0-60mph results. It may be something just impossible to describe in numbers and even words.

The Porsche 911 gives that experience that transcend numbers and words.
(damn, i DO sound like a f*%& late night TV commercial...)
Get tired of trolling the turbo guys since the PDK equipped 997TT came out?
Why must the M3 be such a great car? For 25k less than a C2S you get more car in almost every way. Can someone explain to me why in performance only you would choose a C2 or C2S over and M3? Note that this only applies to the 2008+ M3 as it is far more of a car than the last generation.
An M3 costs less and has space . We needed the space and Gf drives the M3 . It's a grea DD.
In Performance (stock to stock) the M3 does pretty well for a car of its size and weight.
In a straight line it will beat a stock 997.1 C2S It wil not beat a modded PDK

I have absolutely no idea how some people here just can't leave the GT-R vs 911 Turbo thing alone for 5 damn minutes. Grow up.
*edit: I'll take the time to explain the point of my reply for those who didn't see it the first time...
Someone posted upgrading from a GT-R to a C2S.
I didn't understand that. Because the GT-R and either the 996TT or 997TT are basically performance peers (they are amazing at this level), it sounded a lot like upgrading from a 997Turbo to a C2S. This sounds backwards to me. I was looking for a simple explanation of preference or something. I got it. Someone else replied with the C2S is more fun because (formula something like) RWD, mid-engine car, less weight = more FUN. But if that was the only reasoning involved, I responded with (because I didn't see ANY justification in that math) - even less weight, mid-engine car, RWD = More FUN = MR2? This is why I didn't understand the intial math. It wasn't retorted to, but rather explained to me. And I let it go, because my question was answered. It comes down to preference, not performance numbers. This has NOTHING to do with 911TT (PDK or non-PDK) vs GT-R.
And no, I'm not trolling anywhere because of anything about the PDK - because many Porsche owners already stated exhaustingly that the DCT is uninvolving, so using that logic, anybody who thought that about the GT-R's transmission already hates the new PDK. So that point is moot anyway.

Hillarious. Funny as it is, I credit Consumer Reports for getting me into the 911 - wasn't even on my radar until I saw it in there with top ratings and ROUND headlamps - and it reminded me I had always wanted a 911 (that looked like a 993). About a week later, I had my car.

CR may not love cars, but they love the 911, and the Boxster even more.
