Best functional wing for track

Looking for a tail for the 997 and was wondering if the OEM was the way to go with an Aero kit or if there is another option for an adjustable downforce wing.

Suggestions? I must emphasize, looking for something functional. Aesthetics come second.

Interesting... Subscribed!

The OEM GT3 wing is adjustable, Aerokit is not. I do not know about replica GT3 RS wings...

Vorsteiner RS replica wing is apparently adjustable for downforce. Here's the link:

Don't you also want to change the nose to increase downforce there, too - so that the rear wing along doesn't in effect create more nose lift?

What sort of downforce issues are you having?

Good timing as I've been contemplating the same question. How accurate are the replica GT3 wings manufactured by the likes of GTDesign, MASHAW, and Misha in regards to function? I've been tempted to save a few $$ over the price of OEM, but don't want to screw up the balance of the car at high speeds by cheaping out.

i suggest if you start changing car`s aerodynamics - go with tested solutions - oem front and rear. but be realistic how low gt3 rs front bumper sits. it is very low.

The deal with the replicas are that their qualities are worse, they don't fit perfect... Their aerodynamic qualities should not be lower than OEM.

Obviously I'm going to put a cup or RS front bumper.

Just to clarify, adding downforce in the rear does not create lift in the front. A 997 with stock bumper has 'X' amount of lift at 'x' speed. (I forget the numbers). The front bumper (aero or Gt3) makes it zero.

Besides, if a tail created lift in the front every time you adjusted it you'd upset the balance of the car.

I agree with going with the OEM Aerokit, best fit and quality. If you decide to buy OEM, buy together! It costs a lot less if you purchase as a package...

If the owner doesn't have any springs or coils on the car, it should not be a problem...
