so fresh and so clean
Some one pointed out some bird poo on my car a few weeks ago, and I replied "that's OK the rain will get it"

You are a far braver man than I to allow that to “hang out” on your car until it rains. I carry around a small spray bottle of Optimum No Rinse diluted to a quick detail ratio with a microfiber towel in a plastic bag. Is something wrong with me?
it will pass.
I did that same thing with my STI and was about 3/4 as bad with my WRX before that...I think it is getting worse.
exactly, with my first 997 I was like that, now I refer to it as an appliance. Don't get me wrong, I love driving my car, however I am not as concerned about the cleanliness of the car.
What's your technique for the wheels and calipers? Do you just roll the car back and forth to get access to the entire caliper?
Correct! It sucks but sometimes its the only way. The P21S Wheel gel I use I spray all over the place. Since it sticks it at least gets some of the dirt off of the places I might miss.
SHEEEESH.....all because I like CLEAN calipers,LOL!

In the past, I think I've spent more time cleaning/polishing my toys than driving them. I've told myself this time the P-car will be different. And I'm finding that the upside is that the more I drive it, the more often it needs washing!
I am glad alot of the members are finally coming out to show HOW **** they are with cleaning their cars!
I love it!
See guys we are NOT all "tracksters" on these forums....some of us just like the novelty of owning one of these FINE automobiles!
BUT hats off to you IF you do track your Porsche!

I love a clean car. Its relatively easy for mine b/c its a weekend only, garaged vehicle. Every time I put her back in the garage, I wipe down the windsheild, bumper, wheels, rear lower fenders, and engine bay. I just use a damp soft cloth and dry with a soft cloth b/c there is usually very minimal stuff to remove. It only takes 3-4 minutes each time but it keeps it looking real nice (as long as it doesnt rain on me while I'm out).

1 - a garage
2 - for this to be my weekend car (and not DD) so I too could have such an easy time keeping it clean.
I know. My first Porsche was a black 968 coupe and I had no garage, parked under trees. Impossible to keep clean. I then had a 2002 silver Boxster and had a car port at the time which helped a whole lot. I finally have a garage which is a dream. I made myself keep a paid off beater with 100k miles to use as my daily driver which allows me to keep the 997 in the garage.
I see it kinda like NorthVan. I like to keep it clean but can't go overboard. Imagine waxing and polishing your beer fridge.
Once in a while I'll give it a real clean and polish it nice. My neighbour goes nuts because he's a fanatic about cleaning his 993 C4S.
