You could go with gas operated but, I have an electric one, no maintenance, no worries...............................cheap too, a must have for your garage!!!
Gas is not good because of the oil in the exhaust. I bought an electric model at Lowes for about $30.

If there is oil in the exhaust and you're outside, what issue could there be?

I guess none so long as the wind is blowing the exhaust away from your car.

If you need proof, fire up your gas line trimmer or leaf blower and point the muffler outlet at your clean car while letting it run for a bit. Report back with your findings.

But blow drying a car works best if the car is well waxed...

wouldn't blow drying kick up a lot of dust from the ground onto the car? you will be wiping the car down after the blowing. i know it's done by many but i have heard from detailers not to do so.

when washing the wheels, make sure you clean not just the face but into the barrel as well. a open wheel design makes this easier. get a brush and clean it often.
