Question about Navigation for 997.2
The 997.2 I have is the very first Porsche that has Navigation System. All the other systems I used (M-B, Infiniti, etc.) had the default option of seeing where my car is on the map when I don't enter any destination and just drive with the map on. The one in the Porsche doesn't seem to do that, it just shows me the initial position of the car, but as I drive away, it doesn't follow. When I enter a destination it works great but I would really like to just drive, and, for instance, see what intersecting street is next. Is there a way to set the system so it'll do it?

I don't know even how to make it do what you are saying yours does...but maybe check the MAP settings - location vs destination maybe?. Probably not a NAV issue if you don't have a route set with guidance on, NAV is inactive. You just want the current GPS location to be shown on the MAP.
I'm not sure I could get mine to even do what you have. Any hints from the manual? I know any time I use the joystick to "wander" around the map to see something, all I do is hit the "map" button and it returns me to where my car is.

Miraculously, this morning the nav by iself reverted to my desired setting: instead of the aperture with starting point of the jorney it has GPS location on the map. I really can't explain it.
