Laser Interceptor Installed in C4S - pics
Since you leave yours on all the time, can I assume it isn't illegal in Oregon to use a jammer? I thought that even in legal states, you would want to immediately slow down, and then disable the jammer so the LEO could get a reading after you slowed down. With your approach, he'll never get a reading since you are constantly jamming. In California, it is not only illegal to use one, it is illegal to have one.
BTW, very nice install, and the total price seems very reasonable compared to pricing I thought I saw last year on one of these threads.

Had to chime in hear guys. Sorry for the intrusion. Here are the actual Statutes for each State. Read the Cali Law carefully. 3 are legal, 4 is not but what does 4 mean? 4 Sensors, or 4 Jammers composed of 2 or 4 sensors each for a total of 8 or 16 sensors? To date, I have yet to have heard of anyone in Cali, or any other state, getting hassled because of a LCM with the exception of one guy in Texas who ran through a LIDAR trap several times in a row. How could they have missed him? Rule #2, Don't Jam to Gun! Get your speed down to the PSL and shut your LCM OFF and allow the LEO to acquire your speed and drive on by!

LI identifies the threat verbally, states it is jamming and then to slow down. That's what my version does anyway. Do make sure you quickly slow to posted speed and then turn it off. No reason to high light yourself.

Common misconceptions about radar detectors/laser jammers..........
When a radar signal is detected, you have enough chance to slow down to avoid being seen by law enforcement running radar. A laser jammer is not really effedctive because- laser is aimed at a specific target suspected of speeding as opposed to radar that points in a direction and spreads a wide beam which detects multiple vehicles. Even if your car "jams" the laser being aimed at it by the gendarme, since he is aiming at you, he will unevitably notice your speed and stop you for a "paced" speed or observed speed. Don't want anyone to think for one second you can blast by a cop pointing laser gun at your vehicle and not be stopped simply because your vehicle did not return an actual speed reading...........................
Trust me, I know..........

31 years on the road, maybe you "know" more. As far as moving to TEXAS, er............NO. Went to a Cowboys game at the old stadium, Thanksgiving 2005 and spent a scorching week at the Dallas Four Seasons Golf Resort in August 2001. NO chance I'll be moving there, none.

I often consider getting a laser jammer. I'm curious how many times people here who have jammers have actually avoided getting tickets. i.e. they have gotten an alarm, slowed down, disabled the jammer, and then gone by the LEO holding the laser gun and avoided a ticket.
Here are my stats:
2 saves on BMW R-1100RS (Blinder- 1 up front)
1 save on BMW K1200S (Blinder- 2 up front)
2 saves on BMW M3 (Blinder- 3 up front)
2 saves on 997 C4S (LI- Quad- 3 up front)
3 saves on Cayenne TS (LI-Quad)
When I say saves, I am talking about times when I did not see the LEO until after being hit. There are many other times when I saw him first and had already slowed down. Of course the best defense is a good look out doctrine.
Worth the money and time spent? With out a doubt. Do they work? If installed properly most definitely, YES. I find that the LI is the most powerful and in my opinion the top of the line. Cliff is the US distributor. I have purchased two systems from him, talked to him numerous times on the phone about installs and capabilities and can personally vouch that he a great guy to deal with.
For those that don't believe in them or their capabilities I say do more research and maybe even find someone that has a gun and test the system. Even still if not convinced, you'll help to keep the LEOs occupied while I zip on by.
