Quick Question

My tail lights were disconnected for a short time and then re-connected.
All the lights work perfectly, but I am getting the following messages on my dash:
"Check right tail light"
"Check left tail light"
"Check rear fog light"
I guess the computer doesn't know the lights are working.
How can I clear these codes??
TIA,
Mr. B

they should self clear when the lights are reconnected properly. I pull mine out when polishing (front lamps, fogs and side markers - all of them) and even start/move the car. Only get error messages when they are out and the car is on. As soon as I plug them back in, all is good.

Did you put new (LED possibly) bulbs in? Are you sure they are working properly?

Well, the first two messages are gone--all by themselves.
The 3rd on about the rear fog light is still on.
I did not put new bulbs in.
THANKS!!

have you tried turning the rear fog light on? If it works, it might clear the error code. If not, the bulb may be bad (or socket corroded). I know on the 996s it was the same bulb as the brake lights - might be same as on 997s so you could swap to check it and the socket for corrosion. I'd pull the assembly out again and check bulb...

Good luck and let us know what you find.
