This is for the "in between professional detailings" that I will do in my own driveway with my little kids running around driving me nuts. Is there a simple, quick yet high quality "package" of stuff I should pick up? Simple soap, wax etc. for a gentle and quick clean?

You will get so many opinions on what is 'best'. My advice would be to visit some of the detailing forums-autogeek, adams, autotopia- and peruse around on them and see what is available and at what level you are comfortable with.
