New to forum and Porsche

Hello all,

I am getting ready to buy my first 911 Porsche this next month. and I am very excited. I have a max of 42k OTD. and live in California. It seems the newest year for me to afford is the 05 997, I like this version. My question is, There are a few with 40-50 thousand on mileage and one with 70 thousand. Are these all to high in mileage. What do you think? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Pat in OC

Maintenance records are important to have. Higher mileage is not necessarily bad-a garage queen with 9K on the odometer might have some issue that the 50K vehicle wouldn't.

Have an prepurchase inspection performed and the DME scanned-look for over revs and abuse. Hope you find a good one.

I would not buy a 42K 05 high mileage car just out of fear that it could tun into 60K spent if out of warranty repairs pile up.

The car would be nearly 6 years old .

42K is great cayman S pricing (CPO, low miles, warranty) .
Wait 6 months save 15K and buy the 997 then (at 57K) . It's better to enjoy the anticipatrion than have doubts --or even worse ---- to sit in repairs with stress, worry , and expense.

BTW --Welcome aboard .. but this is sincerly how I feel about the car.

I agree with Larry. Find a 05 911 in your price range with a CPO warrnaty or go the Cayman route. Some very nice 06-07's caymans with CPO easily in your price range.

Porsche will last a long time.
Buy the extended warrantee, ask the local dealer about the best one they like to deal with. The good deal about a P car like that, is you will have extra money for MOD's.

Thank you all for the advice. I will definitely get one that is CPO, and take a look at the cayman for another option.
