None. Have the wheels straight. The orange connector in the pics only fits through a hole at the 12 o'clock position on the wheel. This keeps it in alignment.

Great job man! I've been debating on whether to change my steering wheel or not. Unfortunately, if I do change it to the ones you have, I will lose my heated steering wheel feature :-( Ryan at Suncoast did tell me a while back that the paddle shift steering wheel doesn't come with heating. Maybe, just maybe in the near future...they will come with it. One could only hope...

"All Porsche sport steering wheels and multifunction steering wheels
with PDK gearshift switches are convertible with TECHART paddle shif-
ters, as well as all TECHART sport steering wheels. And for the indivi-
dual touch, unlimited combinations of materials and colors are at your
choice." http://www.techart.de/fileadmin/cont...eder090909.pdf
I never asked my dealer for installation quote.
Bought the wheel form Suncoast Porsche for a little over $1,000.00.
This was a very easy DIY project.
Have not had a chance to drive the car as of yet, but I know that this wheel will work in a more natural manner for me.

The answers are Yes, No, and No.

It appears from the TechArt website that they have a kit that works with your existing wheel -- which might make this possible. I hope so, as I have a heated wheel (it's my wife's second favorite thing about my 997.2S, after what she describes as "all that power,") and if TechArt confirms that they can do it with my heated wheel then I will be doing the upgrade.

997's with a tip will require programming at the dealership.
Porsche Dealers did not even know it can be done.
I have a Tiptronic.
Talked with 3 porsche dealers around my area, they did not even know it can be done.
Its like I was talking with them in german. And I am not even WHITE.
What program? What Tiptronic to paddles, huh? What modules? Dont know how to do it, so we cannot quote you on how to install it?
Now what?
