Any issue ensuring the steering wheel remains centered?

None. Have the wheels straight. The orange connector in the pics only fits through a hole at the 12 o'clock position on the wheel. This keeps it in alignment.

It appears from the TechArt website that they have a kit that works with your existing wheel -- which might make this possible. I hope so, as I have a heated wheel (it's my wife's second favorite thing about my 997.2S, after what she describes as "all that power,") and if TechArt confirms that they can do it with my heated wheel then I will be doing the upgrade.

So, Porsche wanted $800 labor on top of the $1K wheel?

I never asked my dealer for installation quote.
Bought the wheel form Suncoast Porsche for a little over $1,000.00.
This was a very easy DIY project.
Have not had a chance to drive the car as of yet, but I know that this wheel will work in a more natural manner for me.

Very nice job! Is it only Plug-and play?
No modifications at all and it does not requires dealer activation after the installation?

Same on our upcoming Cayenne. Porsche got the heating just right - you can keep it on the entire time and it does not get too hot (911 experience). Its a great thing ...don't know what I would do without it. Like you said maybe in the future.

This really depends on what year you have... 09+ PDK cars should be a direct swap.

997's with a tip will require programming at the dealership.

Porsche Dealers did not even know it can be done.

I have a Tiptronic.

Talked with 3 porsche dealers around my area, they did not even know it can be done.

Its like I was talking with them in german. And I am not even WHITE.

What program? What Tiptronic to paddles, huh? What modules? Dont know how to do it, so we cannot quote you on how to install it?

Now what?

Is the installation the same for 2011 PDK models with buttons on top of the wheel?
