The best exhaust system for 2011 C2S?
Originally started with a Tubi exhaust. Sounded great. Then added FVD headers and high flow cats. Sounds unbelievable! With increase in power throughout the range! It does get loud over 3000 rpm but I love it. No drone.
Here we go again. This exhaust system enhancement process was absolutely beaten to death with the 997.1 series in Porsche forum threads. Gains in horsepower & torque, whether carefully documented or exaggerated, will be championed by some and relentlessly attacked by naysayers. Claims as to sound, being subjective, will be all over the map. Whether it is fact or opinion, almost everything someone says will be objected to by another. Lets also add intake systems and ECU reflash to further confuse things. These threads will, inevitably, carry on for years with no universally accepted conclusion.
If I may offer the Cliff Notes version of your note:
It's best to choose exhaust mods based on their resultant sound versus assuming you'll get noticeable power increases. It just doesn't happen in a price/performance fashion.
This means that your choice is highly personal and subjective and you should give a listen to potential choices.
All that said, I've been very happy with the pieces from Fabspeed. I have their mufflers and x-pipe (and would have purchased their headers had I not gotten a very good deal on some other brand). Since mine is a .1, the parts don't carry over but Fabspeed's quality of design and construction likely do. I'd make sure to include them on your 'listen' list.
