When I look at my car from certain angles, I can see that the previous owner must have spilled something on the seats... coffee?

Its not that noticeable, but is it okay to take a damp rag and wipe the seat down or will any water dripping through the pores short something out? (as if whatever spilled in the first place didn't?).

For that matter, will a damp wet rag ruin the leather and stretch it out?

 

That is the best way, damp rag...or take it to a detailer and let them try and get the stain out.

 

While a very slightly damp cloth with water would work I use a good quality leather cleaner design for this purpose rather than water. Zumol is what I use but their are other brands available that will work equally well. Follow up with a leather conditioner.

 

I also have vented seats in my 997.2 and this is what I use to clean/condition the seats (not the dash, however).
The wipes are easier on perforated leather as there is no sticky residue to get into the pin holes.

 

Dadio, you are way too nice to your car. Mine is lucky to get a dry rag wiping it down.

 

Thanks fellas.... I asked because I've heard that using Leather Cleaner/Conditioner "too much" can over-treat the leather then it starts getting soft/stretched and looking like your dad's Lazy-Boy.
