Do I have to wait between paint and clear bra?

My front bumper needs some work. I'll look into touching up the chips vs. a repaint. I can sort that out.

What I'm wondering about is if there is a wait period between either method (touch ups or repaint) and applying new clear bra.

Thanks for the thoughts/ideas.

Most paint-shops and clear-bra installers will tell you to wait 30 days.

+1.
If at all possible, I'd consider waiting 60 days depending on your climate.

Be careful about clear bra on top of touched up areas. It sometimes magnifies them from my experience. Personally, I would touch up until I felt a repaint was justified, then consider clear bra.

30 days is minimum. let it sit under a few hot summer days also. sniff the bumper for paint smell. if it's all gone, you are good to go.

Some body shop will tell you to let it sit under heat lamp or bake in a car oven for 2 days. That WON"T work.

Thanks for the suggestions.
How about if I have it painted this fall and then let it sit in my garage all winter?
I'm in Minneapolis, so that is a good looooong time.
I could clear bra it in the spring.
Would putting a car cover over the fresh paint be a bad idea?
