Why can't you guys come out with an enclosed dual cone airbox for the .1 997s ?

Cutting the decklid for the additional air inlet is no big deal. Fabspeed has been saying they can do this for months with nothing out yet.

Looks like the Y pipe off the throttle body connecting to the filters would need to be redesigned with an offset but otherwise you've got all you need to configure it.

You'd have us .1 owners lined up for it.

How hard is it to install? Is it a DIY type of project?

Terrible Vivid Racin/Agency Power cold air intake experience

I ordered an Agency Power cold air intake with carbon box for my 2009 Porsche Targa S from Vivid Racing.
First problem, car's lid wouldn't close with carbon box installed.
Second problem, OEM rubber air intake hoses from lid wouldn't line up with carbon fox openings.
Third problem, CEL keeps coming on with carbon box removed AND I'm certainly sucking in HOT combustion air.
Fourth problem, Vivid Racing won't accept my unit as a return since the welded "Y" was custom painted.
Solution One; Hang $1,300 unit as Wall Art and complain about Vivid Racing/Agency Power to anyone who'll listen.
Solution Two; Vivid Racing/Agency Power treat me as a legitimate customer with a problem that cries for a solution!!!

I had the same problem & gave up on it.

You will get a CEL due to design with or without carbon cover, everything you say is correct - mine is hanging on the wall as well.........

There is another problem with it as well, the carbon cover is not sealed to the base like the factory airbox is. In other words there is no way it could be pressurized whilst at speed for any ram effect and hot air from the engine can still enter the intake as well (both of which aren't issues with the standard airbox.

Fabspeed works no problem, no CEL's tried it next.

I ultimately went back to standard intake with BMC filters & sport classic duck tail which has bigger inlets to ram feed standard intake box. Had to replace Fabspeed due to interference with duck tail. Still reckon standard intake is best with BMC filters.

Its hard to help when the first you hear of issues is on a forum. The lid, pipe, etc was all tested here. So if you have issues you would like to discuss so you dont have wall art, please email pics and info to dan@vividracing.com.

Vivid Racing follow up

Kudo's to Dan at Vivid Racing for contacting me regarding my Agency Power Cold Air Kit order as summarized above.

To their credit, we've worked out a plan that is reasonable and responsive, if not the First Choice of either party.

After thirty years running my own business, it was always our Goal to make every customer happy; but at the end of the day, it was even more important to deal with the "unhappy" ones!
