Tire Question

Would changing one front tire or one back tire cause a vibration at higher speeds? Got a flat and changed one tire. Current mileage of set is aroung 4000Km. I have had them balanced several times and still have a small vibration on the steering wheel above 75mph. Normal?

Well, obviously not normal. Perhaps it's not a tire problem but an issue with one of your wheels. Or, maybe your replacement tire has a high spot or some other construction issue, although I would hope something like that would be picked up by the technician doing the balancing. I would have the runout checked on the wheels and/or determine if there is a hidden defect within one of your tires. Finally, check the suspension components to see if everything is within tolerance. Good luck.

if the diameter is too different that could cause problems. You should have had the new tire shaved to match the old one.

Thanks for the good points. The new tires are PS2s same size just 4000Km less mileage. Rims are perfect. I've done the road force balancing. Better results but still has a small vibration. I did think about taking the car to the dealership to check components. Wonder if that would be under warranty?

That's a good idea, thank you. I will inquire about it.
