Fellow 6speeders,

Not sure why but after I left korean bbq late last night, my car was vandalized (yet again). I came to the passenger side to help my gf get in the car because she had a backpack and her hand bag and noticed my right side-mirrors were completely dislodged and flipped completely forward and angeled upwards.

The same occurred on the left side, after inspecting I didn't really notice anything else which was really strange but then I turned on the car I had a flat tire notice. This really sucks as my car isn't a year old and this is the 3rd case of people hurting my car. I feel like I should go buy a new Jetta until the economy recovers?

So on to my questions now:
- Can I convert to self dimming mirrors now instead of my standard ones (I am blinded on a daily basis and have no tint on my car because I struggle to see well at night due to Lasik)

- Can anyone recommend a shop or should I just purchase the mirrors from the stealership?

That sucks but I think you should try to stay away from that area.

yes and the worst part was that I parked right in front of the restaurant! It occured at a 24 hour korean bbq in Hacienda Heights, CA.

 

Terrible news, I don't understand what drives people to do this kind of stuff.

 

Sucks - and also sucks that you (we) cannot convert to self-dimming mirrors...already tired it.

 

I know this sounds a bit crazy but can you bring your car to a tint specialist and have him put a very light tint on the actual mirror ?

 

That really does suck!

Maybe that restaurant or neighboring shops have some sort of vid surveilance that you can use.

In any case Karma's a b$tch and I'd bet they'll regret it!

 

Complete bummer. I wonder if there is an alarm that would squawk or chirp if someone makes contact with the car. Years ago I encountered an alarm in Chicago that had a proximity sensor and did a rap at me when I got close to it ("Get back, Jack ... etc.)

 

wow that just plain sucks... just one time I would like to catch someone doing that;( Grr!

 

Yea, the person who did this damage was very slick. Whoever did it knew how to damage my ride without causing the alarm to go off.

I think just the opposite. I think you need to stay in the area and catch the lowlife who would do something so terrible.

Dont get mad but I feel like that area of our country attracts alot of clowns. I think you guys can blame reality tv for screwing up your incredibly pretty state with idiots from all over goin there in hopes of falling into a money pit and not having to work for it. I recently was at a freinds bday and most of the people there were early to mid twenties still in college or just finishing and every other person I spoke with was moving to LA or NYC lol. My next question of course was what career were they trying to get into and only one person gave me a legit answer,nursing. She was pretty so I fully encouraged her decision I was a free spirit but always had somewhat of a gameplan.
