At what rpm do you cruise at?
This is my 3rd manual. I had a Miata, and a 06 STi. My STi had fairly close ratio gear-box. and The turbo boost pretty quickly at 2800RPM, so I can cruise at 2300rpm and get to full boost pretty quickly..!
With the C4S, I think it has taller gears, and require me to stay at lower gear to make power. It takes very little time for me to go with my STi from 2300rpm to full boost, with lots of torque, with my C4S I seems to down shift more.
eg. my STi cruise at 25mph in 2nd gear at 3000 rpm, the 2nd gear on Porsche is more like 2200rpm. If I go from school zone at 25mph and floor, my Sti is so much faster than the Porsche...!
I think I am just trying to get used to the car....! And find the sweet spot, w/o wasting too much gas for no reason...

3rd feels goods - eats a truck load of gas though compared to easing off a bit.
I often let PDK Sport sort it out- mostly works great and does much better at simultaneously saving gas while keeping it ready for fun than I can do manually most times.

Oh yes, i heard that =D
Though RMS issues are (knock wood) behind us, more rather than lower revs are good for the seals. Remember the GT3s that were leaking because they weren't being driven "hard enough" (Excellence Mag)?
I like +2500 on the cruise, but if I put the whip to it _at_all_ I drop a gear. Two if I'm in 5th (tip).
That's why I can't drive it in (D) mode. Sure, I can get 22mpg, but it puts me in 5th before I'm at 40mph. Then I'm driving Jeremy Clarkson's "Old man's car". What's the point?
For the sound, it's amazing that both the 911 and the 356 both sound musical at 3300. Of course the 997 is symphonic above 5k where the 356 is starting to sound strained.

Now that I feel much more confortable keep in lower gear and higher rev. I am driving at least around 2.5K, but been doing more 3K+ It's so much better, and it feels alot more like how a Porsche suppose to be.
Thanks everyone!
Thanks everyone!
Hope that helps!
Sweet =P Good to know that I am not alone. I did some comparison (Study) between my Mustang Dyno on my (sold) STi vs the Dyno posted at Softronic. I think I have learn something.
Here is my (Old STi) Dyno result on Mustang Dyno.

I came from an 07 STi (had an 04 WRX before that) and found it to be much the same as you. I tend to do almost 100% town/city driving and have found that anywhere above 2800 is about right. I usually shift at about 3.5->4k and will down shift at about 2500 to keeps the rpms up and ready to go.
Hope that helps!
