At what rpm do you cruise at?
Say, you are driving in the city at speed 35 or 45 speed limt. At what RPM do you cruise at, and at what gear?
And what do you think is the best rpm to shift? and for best best gas milage?
The site here seems to suggest to keep the car above 2500rpm

Thanks

I usually shift and cruise around 3k. Seems to be my sweet spot for conservation of fuel.
Granted, it's very hard to obey this rule...I find myself driving like I stole it 9 times out of 10

Crazy ****! I'd probably end up killing myself if I drove like that.

This is my 3rd manual. I had a Miata, and a 06 STi. My STi had fairly close ratio gear-box. and The turbo boost pretty quickly at 2800RPM, so I can cruise at 2300rpm and get to full boost pretty quickly..!
With the C4S, I think it has taller gears, and require me to stay at lower gear to make power. It takes very little time for me to go with my STi from 2300rpm to full boost, with lots of torque, with my C4S I seems to down shift more.
eg. my STi cruise at 25mph in 2nd gear at 3000 rpm, the 2nd gear on Porsche is more like 2200rpm. If I go from school zone at 25mph and floor, my Sti is so much faster than the Porsche...!
I think I am just trying to get used to the car....! And find the sweet spot, w/o wasting too much gas for no reason...

It really depends on what type of cruising we are discussing. If the cruise includes alternating speed and terrain i may keep the revs higher . If it's just low RPM gas saving then PDK Normal Mode places the car under 3K .
