Chrome Black Exhaust Tips

Okay, minor issue here but I am just looking for anyone who has installed chrome black exhaust tips on a Black C2S? I guess since they're going for about $500 I'd rather not experiment. Thoughts and opinions?

Here's a couple of pics of mine on a silver 997 S. I know it's not the colour you wanted but these are the AWE black chrome tips.

Thanks. I do think they look really good on Silver as they provide some contrast. I'm just a little concerned that on a Black car it might be too much black.

They're not that black actually in the flesh. I expect they'll look superb on a black car, they're very shiny so they won't blend totally.

Give it a little time, soot will blacken them by themselves and you can see the difference. Personally, my PSE tips look much better sooty Black.

Hey Dave - I'm probably going to get a pair for my Black Targa. It's hard to get a sense of how black they are - up close, they almost look chrome, but they look black in the picture from 10 feet. Does that sound about right?

Also, did you install them yourself? You happy with them?

Thanks - your car looks great! I love the 911 S badge.

Install is really easy, will probably take you 15-20 mins at most. The first pic was taken when they were clean, the second pic was just after I brought the car home from the body shop so they're pretty dirty there.

They're definitely quite shiny but not bright chrome, they have a hint of black smoke in them at all times. I personally think they look superb, plus they keep a lot easier than the regular stainless steel ones.

I wanted to buy those same tips (or FabSpeed's), but before I pulled the trigger on spending $500 on tips, I took my stock (base Carrera) tips to my buddy who owns a powdercoating business. He shot them in "Black Smoke" powder, which is black, but sorta translucent at the same time.

I love the way they came out. Enough so that I'm not going to pull the trigger on the $500 tips..

Oh, and the total cost was $35.

I'll post some pics this weekend.

I have the chrome black exhaust tips on my 997.2 S -- looked awesome day 1 but by day 3, the soot destroyed them. They just look meh now. Recommend you find some used PSE tips (or something inexpensive) and have them powder coated black (or just let the soot take care of that).

I don't know what tips you have but mine are still perfect after a year of use and 20k miles. I personally dislike the standard tips, so the choice of going with the AWE's over powdercoating or ceramic coating was an easy one.
