H&R vs. Eibach lowering springs
H&R vs. Eibach lowering springs
What's the consensus on the board regarding lowering springs...
H&R claim a 1.2" drop, while Eibach states a 1" to 1.5" drop.
Eibach only seems to be about $50 bucks more... what's the better spring kit? And why? I need to order some by the end of the week.

I have a 2009 base Carrera, 3.6L engine, I have a PSM button that seems to turn traction control off... I don't think I have PASM (as I don't have the shock absorber icon/button if thats what PASM is)...
I think it was Tom at champion who told me I needed part # # 29188-1
But on this website: http://www.shox.com/appguide/shoxsho...ctsdisplay.php
The 29188-1 is for 2005-2008... and for 2009 they recommend:
041. H&R Sport Springs2009 - 2010# 54097-2 OK w/ PASM Lowers F& R(1.2)
-------------
Nevermind, I called them... the 54097-2 is for the C4... but C4 wasn't listed in their description anywhere which is why it was confusing.

From my experience, eibach tries to keep the ride oem and lowers the car less than H&R. H&R is usually more aggressive (lower) and rides stiffer. Never had problems with eibach and never heard of problems with H&R.
Eibach
I installed the Eibachs. I was informed that these springs lower one inch--which is what I wanted. Lowering more than one inch may cause other suspension issues according to technical writers for car magazines. Also, i was told by Eibach
that their springs are progressive- so I do not notice any
difference in the ride quality in daily driving. Not sure about
track usage.
