How good is the factory alarm 997?

Recently purchased an 08 C4S targa - how good is the alarm for the 997?
Does anyone recommend anything else?

the factory alarm will suffice. theres an immobilizer built into the chip. if someone really wanted to steal the car, it wouldnt make any difference if you had the factory alarm or a "better" aftermarket one. thats why you got insurance.

+1. The alarm (any alarm) may keep the knuckle heads away, but if a pro really wants it - it is as good as gone. Be smart about where you park and don't make it an easy mark.

@Roadrage,

I love your sig line. It is a close call. In my experience, the P-car *ALWAYS* listens to instructions and is very responsive. Can't say that about girls.
