Driving your Porsche in the rain

If you don't drive in the rain in Seattle you can only drive it for two months. I drive my 997.2 all year round (10K miles in 11 months of ownership). I paid for the car and am paying for it's depreciation/insurance coverage. Hence I feel guilty leaving it in my garage. I can understand people wanting to baby their Porsches but it is a shame when those same owners turn their 911s in for others to benefit. I never understood that.
My car does not melt in the rain or snow..trust me I know that for a fact. I worry more about the year round hazards (especially after two of my co-workers had their cars totalled on perfect summer days) like texting, drunk driving, personal grooming than bad drivers during winters.
I will say this; I spend one hour every weekend to keep my 997.2 in pristine shape. I personally challenge myelf to drive my 997.2 everyday, yet keep it looking showroom perfect. So far I have succeeded very well.

driving in rain......
I live in southern Florida. I bought my car and drove home in the pouring rain, luckily its not my DD so I get to pick qand choose so I have only had it out a few times in 16 months in rain. VERY hard to reside in southern florida dn not experience rain. As a 30 year plus former Harley rider, I smile when I get stuck in rain in the P car and remember tgose horrible times of riding 2 wheels with and without rainsuits...............
Absolutely! I'm not into the pristine look anyway. It's a fun car in almost any conditions. Not a museum piece or a collectible.
I agree. I flew from TX to NJ to pick mine up, then drove it home. On the way I spent about 7 hours driving through the mountains at night in pouring rain surrounded by huge trucks throwing off walls of water. Used to be scared to drive my old Boxster S in the rain, but the C4S was an absolute blast in those conditions. You want to pass the trucks in a hurry, or you spend too much time able to see literally nothing out the front window on account of the water they throw off the back. The C4S complied happily.
