I just put 1000 miles on mine driving to and from Carmel for the holiday. Gave the wife a sedative and drove her (the car) like she was meant to be driven – long and hard.

Yep....you're right, they do like to be driven. I really didn't realize how long she'd been parked until I went to take her for a spin a couple of weeks ago and realized the plate had expired in June.

I guess I work too damn much.

At least I can pile up some miles now while still keeping the overall miles relatively low on the ODO.

She's at 6K now and I bought her August 2009.

With Winter approaching in the Northeast I am going to have to dial back the driving somewhat.

 

And one more... maybe I'm the only one over the top this way, but once in a while, I'll turn it around and park it backward in the garage. Then I can glance lasciviously at that new angle when I pass the door and happen to open it "just to check the garage."

That isn't over the top at all. Now if you were to paint a red line at the front of your garage with "Pit Lane" stenciled in white, well that would be over the top!

 

When you are trying to convince your wife that its totally normal to check the 6Speed forum at 2AM to see what other 997 owners are talking about!!!

 

And I thought I was the only one whos girlfriend/wife gets sick of me checking my computer. haha

 

When you finish putting your winter tires/wheels on at 1am, then you have to take her out for an hour just to see how she feels in her new shoes.

When the perfect parking spot dominates your every thought...along with how to avoid trees, birds, sprinklers, shopping carts, speed bumps, curbs, and the mind numbing people who will park right next to you no matter how much try to aviod them!

 

While I am only a lowly 996 owner, I can completely relate to the second one... but am I the only person who stands outside of the car when starting it, just to get the full effect? (automatic transmission before anyone has to ask)

 

When the car has few miles on it because the parking situation where you are going may not be good, it may rain that day or you already have it clean and don't want it messed up!
