It is very stunning in real life. Much more presence than the 996 Cab. With the 19" Wheels, the car really stands out. Let me know what you think.

I don't get what all the hype is about the 997... It's a 996 face lift... That's all... Its not a new car like the 996 was from the 993...
When the 998 comes out I can see the hopla if is a new car... Most people could not even tell the difference. Even the casual car person could see the difference between the 996 and 993...
It's not that I don't like it. But I will get excited when I see the new 998.... (I hope)

The 997 definately looks better in person and has more "presence" then the 996 with the flared fenders and sills. Having said that, only Porsche officianados like ourselves will recognize a 997 over a 996 in the flesh.

Personally, I really like the 997 much more than the 996. But, then again, I love all 911 Carreras post 1995.

It's just not going to make me run out and trade for one. I think we are all up on the differences since they have been posted on this board way before it was released.

Gary,
There are many more improvements than you know about or can see. If you get a chance read the 2005 Technik Introduction on the carrera/S, it's about one hundred pages and explains all the changes. you;ll be surprised.
