Feedback on 20'' Modulare Wheels - Pics

The previous owner bought these black three piece forged rims from Modulare. I would prefer the brushed look on the outer lip. Can someone photoshop the picture for me to show me how it would look? I have had positive comments about the all black look, but want to hear other thoughts? As always, thanks for the help!

I hope the picture is big enough...I'm struggling with how to get the large image to upload.

I think the black on black looks good.
I have heard of people complaining about the ride and even the acceleration with 20" wheels. Search this forum and Rennlist for posts on the topic.

Wow, nice setup! But I tend to agree that a polished lip would have really set it off nicely. I think all black wheels on a black car is too much - plus the downside to all black wheels is that you can't easily see how big the wheels are. With the polished lip, it really defines the wheel from tire and shows off the size of those beautiful 20's!

Good luck - hopefully you can find a wheel shop that knows their stuff!

Leave it alone, I think it looks nice. Another option is to get a red pinstripe.

20's and all the screws on those wheels - ugh. I'd say start over with something that looks like it goes on a Porsche (Porsche, HRE, Champion, etc - 18s or 19s). Leave the strange choices of the previous owner in the past.

Polish

They are modular wheels, so you could contact the folks who sell them and see if you can get the rims replaced with polished rims.

It would be a hassle, but isn't everything when it comes to modifying cars....

Still, nice looking machine!

Agree. Besides hiding a great styling plus provided by most aftermarket wheels because of the color, you are sacrificing performance in several categories because of the mass/weight of wheel and tires in that size.

LOVE the 20" wheel look.....and that wheel you have IS a classic design that suits the Porsche,IMO.....
As far as performance being hindered with the 20's....maybe for the track BUT not for the street.

I can say this from personal experience that they never hurt my performance on the street, just too may other variables on the street to worry about.......besides a few extra pounds per corner of the car and even then..my one set of DPE 20's are as light as stock wheels...=/- 3 lbs
I weighed my wheels here on the same scale...

And IF someone says that they can feel the performance gain of 3lbs/wheel on the street...well,

Keep the 20's but like someone posted......polished lips! It would go GREAT with the chrome accents you already have on the car(around the windows and tail-pipes)...!

Cheers,

Stacy

Stacy,

Thanks for the feedback! Because this is my forst Porsche I have nothing to compare the performance of my car to, other than my previous BMW 545i. Needless to say, this car is a big step up in the performance area for me, thus the wheels dont feel heavy.
I attended the Plano, TX Cars and coffee event this weekend and a ton of people took pictures of the car and commented about likeing the all black rims, but I'm still not sold on the look. I will call the Modulare guys and find out what my options are for getting the outer lip polished.
Thanks also for all of your helpful posts over time here in this forum; it really helps the new members learn more about these amazing cars!

All the best!

DMac

You are MOST welcome.....and thank-you!

As far as your wheels......IF you decide you would like polished lips and because your wheels are multi piece,it is fairly easy to do.You obviously couldn't shouldn't do it yourself(safety reasons) but most wheel fix it shops CAN unbolt the centres, polish the lips and then bolt them back together.

Polished lips are a bit of up-keep but are easy to fix IF you should curb a wheel!
