Hey fellas - I have an 08 targa 4s CPO till Nov 2013. Has 27,800 miles.
The engine is making this peculiar ticking noise all the time,
hot cold startup even after long drive:

I found this youtube video of a cayenne with the exact ticking noise
I am having.....the dealer told me it is a faulty tensioner and replaced it recently. They said drive 500 miles and if still present they will re examine.
Now I am thinking that was a way to buy some time and get me off their backs....

Thoughts ? Anyone else come across this type of sound?

I'm no mechanic but for what it is, have them replace the part, because all parts come with a warranty as far as I'm concerned, I might be wrong. Have them road test it, see what happens then. Good luck!

 

first, SWEET ride. that is a beast. anyway, yeah i still dont think that tick tick is a normal sound....i'll be patient and follow their instructions.
