What the 997 turbo should be
it's amazing that a "common person ... not in the car industry" can come up with a sweeter design than a whole team of porsche designers.
what's the deal with that...doesn't porsche know they would make a killing if they just took the advice of guys like us, and britt?

Just get back to basics. Make it as beautiful as the 993tt with a big *** and hips. Make it handle as lightly and responsively as the 993tt, but more brutally quick. Give it simple PSM so a klutz like me won't kill himself.
That 997 with Gt2 front bumper, and carrera gt lights looks stunning. Some tuner should make that upgrade. In fact I might look into this for myself, I would have to see how much the CGT headlights would cost and what modifications would have to be done to the hood and front so the headlights would fit. Putting on that gt2 look front bumper can be modified easily to the headlights too.
Do you guys think this is a stupid idea?

The 997 has been out for some time now and I must admit....it still does not "do it" for me. I still like the styling of the 996---especially the wide body cars----over the 997. I sure hope the "new" turbo does not fall flat like the 997 did.

I also think that Porsche was NEVER in it for the pure horsepower war. Go all the way back to the early 356 and Spyder racers and street cars and they never put out the horsepower Corvette, etc. did. The cars were build for momentum, handling, and staying power. Even in the 911 days any number of sedans had more horsepower (at least according to the manufacturer) than Porsche.

Just because you're not joining the war doesn't mean you won't get torpedoed anyway...
