Listing the options on the car will help.

Nice options. Looks like about an extra $9k onto the sticker. I'd do a search for your area and see what the asking price is for a similar car. Also, how long has the car been on the lot? I think going with the 09 and the newer engine is worthwhile. You could start at $59k and see what happens.

You can make any offer you like for a starting point. The worst thing you want to hear from a salesman is an immediate yes on your first offer.

A straight No is not as bad as an immediate Yes, IMHO

A straight No just means you need to come up some on the price. An immediate yes, either means that you hit the price exactly (highly doubtful) or you went over the magic number that they need or want to get.

I have found that having a set price in mind and a logical way that you came up with it will help. Start below that number and work your way up. It is not personal it is a business transaction and you probably worked hard for the money.

Use logic and not emotion during a large purchase. Good luck.

I just looked at the car. I would ask them for a copy of the Car fax and a copy of the CPO inspection report. Look on the Car fax for the date that it was listed for sale at the dealer.

I would also ask for a copy of the service history.

I have found it helpful to know what the msrp was on the original; deduct a reasonable purchase price and then do the math on the likely buyout that was offered. You can get that by checking a couple lease trade web sites. If you then add about 3 or 4 k for the CPO you should be in the right ballpark. Just remember some of those cars were bought and leased at different rates. The turn price is important.
