very specific question about 997/Boxster

For those who have experienced both (manual tranny), how does the shift quality compare? I understand they both use the same shift lever mechanism, but the cables must be longer to get around the Boxster engine. Does this make it feel any less precise?

I like the stock shifter in the 997 better. The boxster felt loose in comparison.

I put the short shifter in the boxster and it is much improved. I have left the 911 stock.
