Help with window not dropping when cold out

Noticing a problem with my '06 C4S when the temps drop below 20F outside; the driver's side door window can't drop when I open the door. I can hear the poor window motor cycling on and off like mad, so it is trying! If I pound the top of the window, it drops down the 1/2" and all is well. I'm sure I'm not the first 997 driver to encounter 20 degree temps! Is this a known problem with an easy fix (short of moving to Florida)? It isn't even covered in snow and ice yet.

Check out replacement part at Pellican Parts... Not too pricey.

Could be frozen window seals. Have had this problem with other cars in winter when the car was left out in the elements. Seal actually freezes to the top of the window keeping it from opening. Will it drop after the car's interior has been warmed up ? If so a little silicone spray or light silicone based grease on the interior of the upper seal itself should help eliminate the problem. Beyond that it could be the regulator as noted in 996PCarGO's.

Frozen seals are common. I've had this problem a few times with both my window and top in a few cars...especially when it gets down into the teens (F). Silicone spray lubricant fixed it for me. I picked some 3M up at AutoZone.

Make sure you clean your windows and seals, let it dry. Then spray the Si-spray directly to a lint-free rag (away from your car), then rub it on the seals. DO NOT SPRAY Si directly onto the rubber seals. It is messy. Also, make sure you roll down your windows all the way, before you apply it, otherwise, you'll get spots.

If the window motor is still sticking/rattling...then you might have a weak motor.
