my targa 4s has come its still under wraps in the lot
i am sharing the details and i hope i ordered right. Let me know what i missed or should have done for the next one because i am going place an order for 2012 targa when its available.
fellow new yorker and targa guy!
i think u did very well. i'd definitely add paddles for the wheel though. maybe DCL and full leather too.
also, the sport design wheel is one of my favorites, but a *itch to keep clean, especially in manhattan, so imo consider a turbo wheel or something else closer to 5 spoke...

Beauty! Nicely optioned too. I would consider checking out adaptive sport seats for next time. I think they feel the best. Possibly the paddle shifts for your PDK the but multifunction wheel you have is cool too.
Congrats! I got my Targa a in November and have loed evert minute of it. I have had so many people stop and talk to me about the Targa...I think a lot of people like the fact that they are rare...lots of C2S's here in the Dallas area! Enjoy!

do i keep them on in the summer to or i have to go back to the tires that came with the car.
Fantom- I really really hope your dealer has advised you RE winter tires.
If not, search this site for postings on this subject. Then ask the salesperson / dealership management if they routinely fail in such crucial tasks.
Net/net: Summer tires on cold pavement (below about 35°F) or snow, is courting disaster. Don't do it.
There are plenty of wheel & tire sponsors here who can help, including Damon at Tire Rack. He'll give you options, good pricing and great advice.
In answer to your question , most people in the north have a set of winter wheels & tires. They switch back to the summer set when things warm up.
Welcome to the fold.

+1 on TomE's summary and switching over twice a year. In Germany, it's actually ILLEGAL to drive with summer tires in the wintertime. But, you don't really need another set of wheels. You can just swap out the tires and keep one set of rims like I do.
One last thing -- don't get talked into all season tires by the dealer. They only thing they are all the time is mediocre

While we're on dealer failings, 1 more piece of advice. Here in NYC, the law is license plates on both front and back of the vehicle. The dealer was ready to let me drive out without front plates and when I asked him why, they said they don't like to drill into the front bumper. You can make up your own mind re how you feel about doing that, but keep in mind that cops (around NYC at least) are just itching to pull over P-cars to begin with. Do you really want to give them another reason? I say save those encounters for laws worth breaking
. The front plate also protects the bumper from pothole damage. Trust me, no matter how careful you are, you will eat pavement at some point. My front plate after a while looked more bullet ridden than Pacino at the end of Scarface
, but hey, better NY stat's property than my own!

RE front mount license plates-
Suggest you google a guy by the name of ROLF STUMBERGER.
Maybe add 'license plates' to the search.
The guy has a $40 bracket which attaches to the tow eye in front.
You don't need to drill holes in your bumper.
I don't own his bracket, so I'm not speaking from personal experience.
But the item gets great reviews from users.
PM me if you can't find his email.
Good luck with everything. Enjoy your car.
