If you drive on salt I would wash it thoroughly ASAP making sure all crevices are sprayed, including wheel wells and the under carriage. I like to spray Griot's Engine Cleaner in all those areas, as I feel that stuff cleans and coats it. I also recommend cleaning coating all rubber trim (every time you wash it) with 303 Aerospace Protectant.
