Turquiose Blue on White
Turquiose Blue on White
I was just thinking about all of the snow we've had lately and when I went outside to run a few errands I was struck by how awesome this color really is especially against the backdrop of newly fallen snow. It made me smile!
I snapped a few pics so here they are:

Thanks for checking these out!

I've been driving my Targa on weekends this winter and the salt has definitely been on my mind. I'm curious from Tom and others who also drive in the cold...
How often do you wash the undercarriage? I live in Manhattan and the carwashes here are pretty bad -- no handwashes and the jets get a fair amount of water under the decklid -- so I go every couple weeks.
Also, I will probably keep this Targa for another 3 years max -- How long does it take for the corrosive effects of the salt to become an issue at all (assuming I wash every few weeks)? Car has 6K miles. Thanks in advance for all replies!

That's all good. Salt can be dealt with but it's a pain, as I recall from dealing with it when I lived in the Mid-West. I imagine though that you can drive on fresh snow on residential neighborhoods and not worry about salt.

I have a great hand wash place close to my house so I'm there every week or at least 3x a month.
I also have it detailed every quarter. I haven't kept a 911 longer than 5 years but I plan on keeping this one for a long time since I did the PTS and love the color. The one I kept for 5 yrs had no issues. It was midnight Blue.

If you drive on salt I would wash it thoroughly ASAP making sure all crevices are sprayed, including wheel wells and the under carriage. I like to spray Griot's Engine Cleaner in all those areas, as I feel that stuff cleans and coats it. I also recommend cleaning coating all rubber trim (every time you wash it) with 303 Aerospace Protectant.
Note: if you get the Griot's engine clear do not forget to order a sprayer.

Great car and color.
I took out both of my cars this morning b4 the new snow in NJ came.
At 28F I had to take it easy but still a great time.
Makes waiting for spring so much harder.
