Features you'd like to see on Porsches (Wish List)
I'm sure as much as we are involved in our cars, there are still a few particular features that you wished the factory had included in the makeup of our Porsches that other car manufactures already have. I'm not talking about accessories or options here, but factory installed standard features. Heck, maybe somebody at Porsche will read this and take our wishes for action.
I got used to the passive locking/unlocking system on my C6 Corvette. A proximity sensor detected whenever you walked away from the car and automatically locked the car. Same thing when you approached the car, the system would unlock. Very appreciated when you are running across a parking lot in the pouring rain and you don't have to fish for your keys to unlock the car.
failing that, I'd appreciate some sort of acknowledgement from the car in the form of a horn beep or blinking parking lights whenever the car locked/unlocked. I understand this can be accomplished by keeping the glove compartment open or buying a module to plug into the OBD connection, but having the factory program this into the car would be much better, IMHO. Right now, the best we can hope for is a barely audible "click" when the locks are activated.
Lastly, the exposed front mounted radiators on our cars take a beating from road trash, rocks, etc. The newer models now have a center mounted radiator that is even more exposed. How about mesh grills similar to the GT3 as standard equipment?
Your turn.

Agree with the above.
- smaller key as well.
- Auto-dim mirrors standard.
- Spare tire or better solution to remote location flats (step up the RA to carry/deliver spares or reimburse hotel rooms).
- forget the vinyl on the seats or make it tough like MBTex - mine is less substantial than an '80 Toyota I had.
- lose that weird soft-finish like on the center console - my BMW e60 550i had thick, rugged, faux grained vinyl where there wasn't wood - looked brand new at the end of 3 years and probably still does. There are better materials available for that than Porsche uses.
A sales guy once told me, "there's yet to be the perfect car"...right, but a 997 will do in a pinch.

I like the orange lights in BMW that light up the center console, barely visible if you look for them, but they make the world of difference
please for the love of god, raise the damn PCM screen!
power window for the passenger seat from the driver's seat control
+1 on the sound when it locks
+1 on the smaller key
reverse cam (I just like them)
folding side mirrors (for tight spots)
but I love my porsche

IMO these features (or lack thereof) are some of the reasons why I like my 911. It does not remind me of the Corollas and Optimas and Elantras and Priuses. No offense to those cars or their owners.
A good solution for flat tires would be awesome though. I also feel that each model of Porsche should have it's own selection of wheels and not this crossmatching. All the models then lose their individuality be it a Cayenne or a 911 or a Boxster.

I agree 100%, but I'm sure the people here with kids will bash the idea. I would never put a kid in there anyway b/c they kick seats and drop food and drink.

I hope not. I would be very very disappointed with Porsche.
My boy loves my porsche
and he is actually the only reason I bought my car, and I'm glad I did. Keep the back seats!!!!!!!
More power please, less weight
