Not quite a day old. A few questions

My 09 Targa C4 was delivered last night and love it so far.A few questions to start. How do I get the Nav/ Map to recognize my current location? It seems to be stuck in the old state. It came with a clear bra on it is there any special maintenance on it. Also has PCCB,is there any special maintance required or anything I need to know about them? The cup holder lid is not closing flush. Is the a way to adjust this? More questions to come I'm sure. Thanks in advance.

All your questions have answers in your owners manual.... Porsche owners manuals are actually quite good. You should have a completely separate manual for your PCM/Navi.

I've got PCCBs on a 997.1 with 43K miles. Virtually no rotor and brake pad wear. Car is not tracked - yet. If you find out how to clean your wheels, let me know. I'm too busy driving the car to read the manual.

I had the same issue with the nav map stuck in another state when I picked up my 2008 997 last year. I took it to the dealer and they said that the tech that changed the particulate filter broke the nav antenna. Covered and replaced under warranty and fine now.

LOL --I don't even know .
I never have used the Nav and have no interest in it whatsoever . I don't have clear bra . I had PCCB on one 997S and drove it for 1 year (9K miles) without ever replacing anything.

You seem to be getting a lot of help on this.

I have an '08, but have you tried going into the menus to see if there is a menu where 'destination' has a check mark beside it? If it does, uncheck it and check 'location' in the same menu.

Cheers.

This is the correct answer for nav and cup holder.

- Nav uses GPS for your location - if it thinks you are somewhere else, it is broken. If it does not know your "home" address, look in the PCM manual and change it. If you plan to use it, you need to read the manual anyway and, if not, then it doesn't matter where it thinks you are.

- Cupholder is not normally something you adjust.

- PCCBs - not many have them. Main thing is being super careful changing wheels if you do that sort of thing - don't bump them with a wheel. Ask you dealer about care and feeding when you are in for the other issues.

Definitely spend some time reading through the manuals though...no reason not to unless you have some sort of disability.
