Funny stuff. The only reason I had my coolant changed was because of a hose coupling coming undone and the coolant leaking out.

i change everything every
other year.. its well worth it.. and the oil every 7500 or once a year..

coolant change.......

I think "every other year" seems to be alot.........I can relate to every five years although, one can never change fluids too often.................

talk to anybody that knows cars; that life time coolant does not last a lifetime. the chemicals in the Porsche coolant do hold up, however, they are the same chemicals that damage other expensive parts, radiators. at about 7 years or so ,ones that don't change their coolant spend a lot more replacing their radiators. and for the brake and hydraulic fluid, thats every two years no matter how many miles one puts on their car...

Oh, and find yourself a good Porsche shop, not the dealer and it's about $ 2-300. Never take a Porsche to the dealer unless it's under warranty. The service people work off high commissions !!!!

Anyone know if distilled water is required when changing the coolant? Or is tap water OK to use, with distilled being 'preferred'.
