Porsche Canvas Artwork - Professional Photographs

I'm in the process of decorating my office, and have a wide open wall that I'd like to hang a large canvas of artwork or photograph that best captures the essence of Porsche, something like 60" x 60" to play with, maybe a little bit more of space dependent on how I hang it......I'm thinking even some angular, urban shots of a GT3RS, or a 2010 GT3, or a vintage Porsche even (like photos of the steering wheel, black and white, that kind of stuff)....here's what my initial research pulled out.......

http://www.nicolashunziker.com/ (amazing work and is , but out of my price range)

http://www.frecksautoart.com/porsche.html (even something like this, I really like it, but I'm looking at a much large size then what's offered)

any input is greatly appreciated.

One cool thing you can do is to find some vintage postcards / reproductions / prints. Then have them scanned and output to a poster inkjet. There are many local mom and pop shops than can do this.

boochook,

Have you considered using a photo service to print canvas conversion of photos? I decorated my garage with a few vintage photos that I downloaded from the net, photoshop'ed, then sent to an online service - 1 week later, I received a 30X40 canvas print.

REALLY nice, I was not aware they could do that. I thought the resolution had to be a certain size for them to be able to make them that big......I will check this out. Thanks! +1 Rep coming your way.

bbywu - Thanks for the direction. What type of resolution do I need though in order to get to the 30x40 canvas prints? Can you PM me or mark who that online service was? I found this one on google (www.largeformatposters.com), so not sure if anyone has used them.....

THANKS!!!! I'm really excited.

away is infamous around these parts
What sort of prices in general for these large scale re-prints? They do look nice and I love the concept of being able to take a smaller source and make it so large.

Another good outfit that has pretty reasonable prices is MPIX [ www.mpix.com ] They may be able to do up-sizing too, and I know that they do some awesome canvas gallery wraps.

The higher the resolution of the original image the better as you know. >but< The cool thing about the technique is that you will see large halftone dots when you get up close. It adds to the overall effect.

I used http://www.art.com/photostoart/

Larges size they canvas is 42 X 56 inches. My 30 X 40 inch print was about $180, but I used an online coupon for a discount...

If you go to the link, click on canvas for some options. The photo I used was converted from Canon's RAW converted to a JPG file. They accept resolution file sizes up to 20MB - so I used the highest density photo I could. Sorry, don't remember exactly what resolution.

Hope that helps.
