I bought a similar '05 S from a private seller with no CPO warranty - after having the car two years, it turns out it didn't matter - would have never used it. Now, my Audi on the other hand - thank god that was a CPO car! It paid for itself two times over!!

I'm interested because before getting my BMW I was looking at an Audi, what went wrong in it that you replaced under warranty?

Off the top of my head - warranty covered coolant temp sensor, new steering rack, oil sludge issue with turbo, and faulty ignition immobilizer. After the CPO ran out, I've had to replace a leaky coolant flange, vacuum leak (hose), RPM sensor, faulty check valves, and all ignition coils. The car has also required a lot of 'wear and tear' items to be replaced: control arm bushings, transmission seals, valve cover gaskets, water pump, timing belt, etc. In all fairness, the car is 8 years old now so I'd expect some of these on any car...

Here is a picture. I initially wasn't sure about the wheels, but they have grown on me. Thanks again for the advice.

Wow, I heard Audis are not reliable (especially the last generation) but I didn't know how much. How many miles did you put on your A4 and do you have it only for a while or a long time? It's automatic?

mileage

I'm the second owner of an 05 s. Got it at 22000 miles in 2007. I've put 51000 miles on it without a single problem. A local independent s****d me with a unneeded ignition coil replacement but besides that it's been trouble free.
I did replace a clutch due to valet abuse but the failure was not the clutch plate itself.

Sorry to everyone else if this thread is getting high jacked by our Audi conversation, but to answer your questions - I've had the car 4 out of it's 8 years (as the 2nd owner), and it now has 68k miles (had 42k when I bought it).
