There's an old adage that says "date your own age" where this woman is 7 yrs younger than me. And she was staring at me a lot too which is a good thing. Jury still out. A second date will tell the tale.

Keep us posted! LOL All us attached guys are living vicariously through you!

Date #2 was had last night...even better than Date #1. Got a lot of the formalities out of the way. Again we did not discuss cars, I don't even know what she drives and don't care. (well ok, I do care a little, I hope it's not a 1990 Camaro). Anyway, we hit a few spots, did some making out, played some pool, and I was making shots I had no business making. But I got to watch her play pool which was an awesome treat. The deal has been sealed for more dates to come, and the Carrera was still in hiding. The gundo hack is my ace in the hole.

wow guys that was not meant to be shallow. oh well. She's hot. Smart. I don't care what she drives. That isn't shallow, it's honest. I was excited to go out with her and still am, since there appears to be substance behind the good looks. Let's face it, date #2 is the turning point, either your stock rises or declines. I know this isn't a dating thread, and shouldn't be, but I don't even see what was so shallow in what I said. If she's gorgeous why wouldn't I want to see her shoot pool ? Geez.

First of all I would not go on a second date with her. All she could say is nice sporty car? She didn't even know it was a Porsche!

Second, you want girls to like you for who you are but you try to hide a part of you in the garage?

I am not sure if I would call that being humble. More like presumptuous!

Oh come on, let's give the OP a break. This isn't a technical thread that went OT, never was... No judgement required. He was talking about dating a hottie and I can read there are a few responders that were interested in the ritual. I'm very happily married but it's fun to see how the other half lives once in a while.. .

Seriously, everyone needs to chill the hell out. This isn't a PDK vs. 6SP discussion, just OP posting an amusing and interesting thread. If he picked her up in his 911, half of us would be flaming him. FWIW, I drove my 911 when I first took about my GF 3 years ago. She drives a Jag, who the f-ck cares?

Since OP is keeping his P-car on the DL, I congratulate him. Obviously, he's not using it as a tool to increase his game. In the end, it's merely a machine while his object of desire is smart, attractive, and sophisticated. Now, less talk about the car and more about the girl!

This is Fun!

There are a lot of diverse folks here! Ranging from "my car says who I am, don't hide it" all the way to "gee your shallow because I certainly never wanted to date someone because she was hot..."

I dated my wife because she was attractive to me. I married her because she has integrity, and is a genuinely nice person with the same values and goals as me. ...and because I thought she was hot! We have stayed married because we made a commitment to enjoy our marriage till we die.

Maybe I'm shallow too, but keep us posted. It is entertaining!

My GF is smart, generous, hard-working, fun and used to model. Guess what trait attracted me to her first?

I'm with you all the way JJ.

I am sorry but anyone saying that they were not physically attracted to their mate when they first met is being disingenuous. It is a recognized fact that through out the animal kingdom physical attraction does figure into the choosing of a mate.

So, lets cut the OP some slack.

And for the record, my girlfriend is smart, sexy, a wonderful and caring mom and drop dead beautiful (at least to me; and isn't that all that matters?).

I saw this interesting article about research that found a correlation with looks and smarts that thought might be relevant to this thread.

Great posts by some smart people. I like to frequent this board not only because of the wealth of information, some great deals on hardware for the P-car, and good gossip, but because it's quite fun. So I appreciate being here. I still haven't seen what this girl drives. Maybe I never will, who knows. Obviously I have some dating experience, and that may be good or bad depending on how you look at it. We'll see how it turns out.

Last night I walked by a gray Cayman S that had the rear badge removed. I explained to my friend in detail how I knew it was a Cayman S. And for that I am honored to be a part of the P-car family.

And another thing: when I was on the road for a week for work, I had a dream about driving the 911. Anyone else had a dream about drivng their car ? And I had another one where I had a Z4 and freaked out that the 911 was gone. ha.
