Guards!
Well, now I've done it. Here's my 2009 C2, guards red, 6MT. I just bought it about two weeks ago from a local Porsche collector. It had 2000 miles on it, and was just broken in and showroom-perfect in every way. It was also built just exactly the way I wanted: sport chrono, Carrera Classic wheels, Bose, power seats, black interior, XM, Bluetooth, nav, universal audio.
It wasn't exactly what I started out looking for -- I was convinced I wanted a C2S PDK, but I now know it's what I wanted all along. To me, it's the perfect representation of the idea of a 911. It's not rocket-fast, but showcases the special weirdness that makes 911 something really unique. The 6MT makes sure you're always connected to the car, and play your part in the driving experience. I test drove a C4S PDK and just love the performance of the PDK, but I think the 6MT is more fun.
As for the Guards Red...well, it definitely gets attention. I think it works with the Carrera Classic wheels, and, weirdly, the colored crest hubs. I don't think I would have checked the $185 colored crest box, but I'm glad someone else did. Pictures are from a phone camera, unretouched except to crop and scale.
