Help me, I am SO WEAK.....
(I posted this in the Turbo forum but perhaps I'll get some good info here too_
On my 5th BMW, an '08 M5 which I love. Have owned 3 Porsches - '56 1600 Super. a 912 and a '73 911 Targa - but - been reading thru this forum and seeing what you folks drive and I'm getting the newer 911 "wants".
Looking on EBay and auto trader at : '08-'10 C4S and Turbos in both Coupe and Cabrio models - color preferences are Speed Yellow and maybe Guards Red (maybe too Silver or Black). I really prefer a CPOd car, but.....
Saw on EBay this :
1) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2009-...item5642469c49
and this is "local" (which I quickly looked at - color Silver tho) :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2008-...item3364f625bb
and here (not thrilled with the interior) :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...item1e617e8863
Phoenix car (= high taxes) :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2010-...item56428069a4
curious as to what Options are a must, nifty, nice to have (money is somewhat of an object)
any "new" car wouldn't be a DD - would be a fair weather, get out and run it and a once or twice trip from Texas to the West Coast (no Tracking but maybe just scaring friends once in a while)
HELP ME, please..... Thank you

MI55LE,
All of them very nice. Take a pill for that fever and take your time. Drive a few at a dealer
and consider all the available options. I like the Sport setting on mine. When on, the car just tightens up and is ready to jump like a cheetah. I like the manual shift. Seems like you are looking for auto shift. The auto shift on the 2009+ NA is PDK and my opinion much nicer than the earlier tiptronic. You may want to consider the leather interior instead of leather seats only.
Good luck with your hunt.

Try cars.com, they have a good search engine which allows you to modify your search by several parameters. There are lots of good cars out there. If you think you want an automatic cosider an '09' or up and get a PDK. Take your time.
Those are very different cars . Coupe, Cab , and PDK C4S have only one thing in common -they aren't a manual . That part I understand . What I don't understand is how so many different cars could be "the one" . Most of the time .. the shopper has a better idea of what he is looking for.
Must have options
PDK and Sport Chrono .
That means no Tiptronic.
As for the Coupe Vs Cab -- I prefer a coupe . The idea of sacrificing performance (not to mention roof wear , leak potential, acoustics , and safety) and even paying extra to have top down driving where road filfth is blown all over myself and the car's interior does not sound appealing.

+2
early 09 with tip value is much less
then the late models with PDK..
I also like limited slip but not many of those out there.

thank you fellows - really appreciate the responses.
I'm thinking the C4S over the C2S just because of the "look" - maybe I'm not "thinking" clearly...
I don't want a MT and would choose a newer model because of the PDK (vs Tip)
I don't keep newer cars past their warranty
Cabrio - have had 2 converts previously - won't stay adjusted so leak badly (they just look so good with the top down..IMO, not pretty with top up)
Will drive the 2/4/turbo before buying and will hold out for the "right" car (options, colors, etc)
thanks

PDK and SC are imperative since you do not desire a manual. You live in TX so I would lean towards the C2S, the "widebody" look is subjective and not worth the weight gain IMO. You will be astounded at how much options add to the sticker price. My C2S has over $10K in options, the majority of which I could have done without to tell you the truth. Adaptive sports seats are wonderful and an option I recommend, the "aluminum-look" center console and door handles are merely colored plastic but provide a nice contrast to the black interior and complement the meteor grey exterior. The Classic wheels are relatively easy to clean. Things like door sill insignia, chrome exhaust tips, etc. are trivial.
Enjoy the journey, take your time, and test drive the various iterations of the 911 and you'll get a better take on your ideal Porsche.
